I love romance novels! I especially love historical romances. Maybe because the historical romance novel are based on the romances of the past. They are either true or myths … but none is matter when you have been romantically spellbound by it!!
Here’s a peek of historical romance novel magic and fascination:
Historical romance is set before World War II. Most of my historical romance novels are medieval romances. These romances are typically set between 938-1485.
Women in the medieval time periods were often considered as no more than property who were forced to live at the mercy of their father, guardian or the king. Always a lady, the heroin must use her wits and will and find a husband who will accept her need to be independent, yet still protect her from the dangers of the time.
Then come the hero….the hero is almost a knight who first learns to dominant, and the heroine, despite the gains she made, is usually still in a subordinate position. However, that position is her choice, made ‘the sake of and with protection from an adoring lover, whose main purpose in life is to fulfill his beloved’s wishes”
I couldn’t agree more with Wikipedia....it’s precisely why I adore historical romance, the muscular knight of shining amour and the ever headstrong yet charming lady.
